Just wanted to drop you a line and let you know what a terrific job Anthony and Mike did on the Facilis install today. A system as complex as the Facilis requires a custom install with the systems it is being integrated with. Anthony went above and beyond the call of duty in making sure it was perfectly operational, even changing some items to better suit our needs and expertise. Some vendors want to force the setup they think is best, but Anthony quickly adapted and conformed all to of our wishes, even when he may have thought there was a better way. He also never hesitates to take my calls and never makes me feel like I'm imposing on his time. In this age of poor customer satisfaction scores, whether it be automotive sales or a grocery store, it's refreshing to deal with individuals who are focused on their customer's complete satisfaction. It's reasons like this that I immediately call Midwest for all of my IT. / Facilities needs.

I'm writing this letter as a direct result of one of your employees actions this past Friday night....we work a large number of jobs at the same time in a small shop, and almost always with very tight turn-arounds. Things...nearly changed Friday night when one of our Rorke arrays had what seemed like a fatal crash as it neared the end of a 16 hour, 40000+ frame After Effects render. The project was due on Sunday. The project took three weeks to create - a 3-screen, triple HD animation dozens and dozens of layers and sublayers deep. All this to say that if it failed, we too, would fail for the very first time. Following the crash easily half of the drive's contents were wiped out, including output files, source files - everything we needed to complete the job. Even if I wanted to restart the render, the source files had been destroyed. Not good. I tried everything I know to work around it, bring the files back, try and find some way out of this and couldn't, and although I hated to do it, I gave Jon Stilson a call on his cell phone as a last resort. He actually answered right away - 1am on a Friday night - and didn't hesitate to jump all over the problem. He walked me through a number of trouble-shooting steps with the hardware, then with the software, he got on his computer to look things up...he let me futz out a couple things and call him back. Eventually he asked me to download and run some software...after an hour of running it he texted me back on his own - close to 3am now - to check in and see if everything was going all right. Turned out that it was. We were able to recover the data and rebuild the drive and deliver the job on time. We literally could not have done that without Jon's help and patience and dedication to his job and his clients. I am truly impressed and indebted. You have a fantastic asset in Jon. I wanted you both to know how very appreciated he is.

Tom/Command Performance
Ever since the days of the Amiga and the Video Toaster, Kane Peterson has been the one I turned to when I need help. I always felt confident that my system (HP xw 8000 running Avid Express Pro HD, etc.) would be in good hands when some performance issue arose. Then, I moved...From a support point of view, I feel like I’m out at the end of a peninsula, all alone. There is no support for my system here.... The largest computer dealer in town is a Best Buy “B” store. When I mention the term NLE to them they look like I’m from another planet. All other computer sellers deal with business machines and software. Over a year ago, I learned that I could go on line with Kane and he could make the problems go away. What a relief! And we are planning another session next week. I simply want you to know that Kane has been a life saver for me more than once. Not only is he knowledgeable but he is always pleasant even when he realizes that I made a dumb mistake and can’t undo it. The fact is that I don’t need to know how my computer works, I just want to be able to perform some reasonable tasks reliably. Kane has been an extremely important resource for me and I’m sure he enhances MWMG’s business profile as well. Thanks to you and Kane, I can sleep at night.

I wanted to take a few minutes to let you know how much I appreciate the support I get from your Michigan team. Anthony just left here after solving some digitizing issues we were having, that in itself isn’t remarkable. What is so remarkable is I didn’t call him, he called me. He said he was in the neighborhood and that he would be happy to drop by if we needed him to. I have been in this business for 17 years, and I have suffered through a lot of poor service and underwhelming personnel when it comes to purchasing equipment and having it serviced. I never expected a complete antithesis when I started doing business with Midwest, but that is exactly what happened. My latest experience with Anthony proved too much for me to keep this to myself. Where did you find these guys? Keith knows his product inside and out, and he knows the people end of it too. I haven’t known him very long, but he knows me well enough to know what I need, and he knows exactly how to explain things to me. He’s been very patient and he worked very hard to make his first sale with me. Then he hooks me up with Anthony who not only knows how to get our systems up and running, he’s actually fun to be around! I have had problems with our systems in the past, and even paying top dollar, I couldn’t drag a tech out to help us. Needless to say, I am very impressed with Keith and Anthony, and I am truly amazed you have managed to find two such remarkable people to work on the same team....the entire state is starving for the very thing Keith and Anthony offer; the right equipment and the service to support it.

I just wanted to drop you line to let you know what a great job your guys have been doing for me. A couple weeks ago I was forced into doing an upgrade of our Unity to use some new client software. Jon Molfese was able to get out here within a couple of days and take care of us in just a couple of hours. The information we received from the manufacture was wrong but Jon was able to get all the parts and software together even offering to come in at night or over the weekend, he was able to squeeze us in and take care of everything we needed. I really appreciated all of his efforts. And then, over this past Friday night, we had a power supply take a dump on one of our Meridien BOBs, completely shutting down one of our MC 9000's. So, I fired off an e-mail to Brian Plante and Jerry Tohtz asking them if they'd be able to get their hands on a Meridien BOB. Got a e-mail from Brian over the weekend saying don't worry about it, He was sure that you'd be able to take care of whatever I needed. Then, first thing this morning, I call and talk to Jerry, and he tells me that they're already on the case and that Scott will be giving me a call shortly to let me know exactly what can be done. About a half hour later, not even 9:30 yet, and Scott calls me to let me know that We'll get a BOB first thing tomorrow via FedEx. I was really impressed. Once again, you guys have come through for us in a jam, as always. And I just wanted to let you know that I personally appreciate it. I know that we're not one of your biggest client, but you would never know it with the way that you treat us...no matter what size we are, as long as you and your guys, and gals, continue to provide this kind of service, you can always count us as one of your clients.

Thanks for the help you provided when we were out of pocket with the Avid Dongle failure. We were against a tight deadline for an international event and you made the system work for us. It is not often that I call someone's home (especially coming onto a weekend) to get things moving. You allowed us to move quickly, get help and receive a replacement overnight. Our reel was nearly finished and ready for output. We would have had to redo the project had our only other option was to go into another system. Replacing the dongle kept us on time and on track. This is not the first time Midwest Media Group has come through for us when needed. We very much appreciate the outstanding service and attention to detial that your staff provides....an excellent and most appreciated security blanket.

Just wanted to let you know I arrived at the Editworks office to a hero's welcome this morning. The credit I was getting was actually due to the support of your staff. I was at the airport in Philadelphia Thurs. night when I got the call that the Avid had crashed, Media Composer wouldn't boot and there were two hard drive icons on the desktop. After determining that I couldn't figure out the problem, I put in a call to your office where MMG happened to pick up the phone at 5:30. Your team quickly mobilized a team who worked for three hours remotely to fix the problem and enabled Paul and Tim to pick up where they left off. It can't be overstated what a great group you have. Just the fact that an employee picked up the phone as they were leaving speaks volumes to the commitment your people have. I've seen many people let the phone ring after 5pm or walk out the door with the phone ringing. I know most of the people at MWMG, so the lengths they'll go to help is no surprise to me, but you really made huge impression on several people at Editworks last night.

I just wanted to say THANK YOU for your help! I really appreciate it...we had a session scheduled in that room and I couldn't access the project I needed on the XServe Raid...I installed fibrejet but could not figure out why it wasn't working. I did all I could and it still would show "missing" next to each volume. Pressure, pressure, what can I say. Thanks to your help...I made it just in time for the editing session. Everybody's happy...Thanks again!

Well, ole bessy finally kicked the bucket. She was one tough workhorse. Made me some money and taught me alot about patience. Simply the crabbiest dang Avid I have ever touched in my life, including life on the road as a nationwide freelancer. I loved her dearly though. On the bright side of things, Keeney and John Connolly, Jr. at Midwest Media Group hooked me up like a tow truck with a (drumroll), a (more drumroll), a brand new, (more drum roll), a new AdrenalineHD system with sapphire! Yeah thats right, I'm gettin an Adrenaline. I don't hate it anymore. At least after milkin ole bessy all this time. The cool fellas offered me an outstanding price I can't repeat on a DS Nitris system and if it were just up to me, that's what I'd go with but honestly, my workflow doesn't require the cost difference. Matter of fact, I shot alot of HDV so Adrenaline is just a better fit. I'm lookin forward to tearin into it. The groovy Kane from Midwest Media Group will be in da house next week gettin me all set up and ready rock. While these things never happen at a good time, I told myself when I bought the symphony that if I got two years of use out of it (it was waaaay used) I'd be cool. I got three and was still pissed when it died. I was all like "nooooooooo!" in a bad horror movie as she went even though I knew that could be at any minute from the time I purchased it. Go figure.

I can't say enough great things about Midwest Media Group. They simply aim to please.

I would like to thank you and your team for your great service. Avid was offering a $7500 trade-in on old Media Composers, and I contacted your company after the offer expired. Midwest Media Group extended the deadline, allowing my company to procure a new Avid Media Composer Adrenaline. Jerry Tohtz helped design the right system for us, offered plenty of advice on FCP vs. Avid, and supplied some last minute replacements for our old system to keep it running until we could replace it. Mike McDonald arranged financing for us so that our young company would not experience cash flow problems. He also offered some useful information about the book keeping ramifications of the financing. David Sallak set up the system for us quickly and efficiently, and provided training, even staying past closing time to make sure we got our money's worth. Scott Limberg provided helpful tech support after the system was installed. And you John, called recently to thank us for our purchase. Now that's how to run a company!

We just purchased and had installed the SD500 along with the Sonic DVD Producer. I wanted to pass along how pleased that I was with the integration and training that Kane Peterson supplied. I have been in the business for nearly 15 years and over those years I have dealt with many companies that supply the same type of services. This is just a quick and belated note to inform you of a recent "situation" that occoured at our post house a few weeks ago. After replacing a faulty CD player on our Avid DS, which we purchased from MWMG, the sytem refused to boot. Kane Peterson was, as usual, quick to respond with telephone support. After a long day we finally "tricked" our system into starting with a "dirty install". Although everthing appeared to look good we noticed several unstable elements within the system that kept us from working. Kane had mentioned on the phone that he would be in our area the next day on another call and promised to stop in and check on us. It's a good thing he did. He arrived at about one o'clock in the afternoon and stayed past nine o'clck that evening getting our system back in order. He not only managed to save VITAL data but re-installed everything. I was so impressed with his positive attitude knowing he still had a five hour drive back to Chicago! When it was all said and done, he even offered to stick around and answer some technical questions I had. Unbelievable! I couldn't imagine any other reseller with such support. Anyone else would have been out the door. I noticed on your web site that you were awarded the Inc 500 award. I can certainly see why. With people like Kane Peterson on board it's no wonder. Give that man a raise! In any case, I just wanted to say thank you. It doesn't get any better than that!
